In Memory Of Joel Dorn

Since the release of our film, our dear friend, Joel Dorn passed away.

Our thoughts & prayers are with Joel and his family.

Joel Dorn (April 7, 1942 – December 17, 2007) was an American jazz and R&B music producer and record label serial entrepreneur. He worked at Atlantic Records in the 60's and early 70's.

32 Jazz, Label M, and Hyena Records are among the record labels he started. He called himself "The Masked Announcer".

Some of the artists Joel worked with included: Roberta Flack, Rufus Harley, Max Roach, Byard Lancaster, Yusef Lateef, Willy DeVille, the Neville Brothers, Herbie Mann, Les McCann, Eddie Harris, Mose Allison and Rahsaan Roland Kirk.

Dorn won several Grammy Awards.
