Fifteen years after its debut, WYBE continues as an alternative to traditional and public television. WYBE operates analog channel 35 and digital channel 34 in the Greater Philadelphia area. The station broadcasts to 2.9 million households in 11 counties.

WYBE is owned by Independence Public Media of Philadelphia, or, as it is now known, Independence Media. The station provides a unique service aimed at highlighting diversity and multi-cultural communities that lack ongoing representation on any other broadcast outlet. Our original productions include Philadelphia Stories, which showcases the independent film community. In addition we feature the program, Culture Trek, in which local Philadelphia high school students work on projects with teenagers in other countries.

With its newest TV and internet service, MiND: Media Independence, the station hopes to increase community participation and dialogue through member-submitted programming
